Active in world-leading research & techniques such as:
- Development of high flexion total knee replacement; articular cartilage regeneration
- I am part of the national 'ACTIVE' trial of autologous chondrocyte implantation (resurfacing of the damaged surface of the knee with a patients own re-grown cartilage cells) and I can therefore offer this treatment both for NHS and private patients and I accept tertiary referrals for this.
Training
- Delivers lectures and surgical demonstrations, regionally, nationally and internationally and has a prominent role in the teaching of medical students.
- Published numerous papers in peer reviewed journals.
Personal
- I played rugby for many years and am a keen skier and tennis player and I understand the frustrations (for amateurs as well as professionals) of being unable to return to sport after an injury.
